In this followup article we have a more straightforward comparison of older vs newer hardware for an SHC. This article is similar to “Splunk search heads — comparing hardware changes in terms of search impact”, in this version we have a smaller and less utilised SHC moving to new hardware which makes for a more straightforward comparison.
